Middleham castle overlooks the hotel and the town is famous for its horseracing links and is an ideal base for walkers and visitors to the dale.

The hotel now boasts a 60 seat brasserie and 5 new bedrooms. The 17 rooms are individually decorated and have either a contemporary feel or a more traditional flavour, though all retain the charm of this historic inn, whilst incorporating the most up-to-date facilities. The brasserie serves morning coffee, lunches including a range of sandwiches and dinner. The menu provides the very best modern, cosmopolitan cuisine, from pizza and pasta dishes to seasonal game and fish. The brasserie also has an early bird menu and a 'plat du jour' dish.
